'Cretinous' Caffeine Intakes

Joseph Britt says I'm getting too little sleep and drinking too much coffee. He's prob right. FYI, it's usually 6 hrs a night (1-7)--and then a triple shot latte, followed by three additional filter coffees (black, or with one sugar), and then a Diet Coke or two and a couple espressos rounding out the late morning and early afternoon. Yeah, I know, Houston we have a problem...but is it as bad as Brad DeLong's?

Good Lord. One day of that much caffeine would keep me sleepless for the next three, and I'm not even that sensitive to stimulants.

I have no prescription; everyone's different. For what it's worth,I find drinking really good coffee -- straight black, always -- has a marked positive effect on my mood and productivity.

Yes, you should be getting more sleep, but your coffee consumption seems fairly mild. Admittedly, I've recently taken to buying both caffeinated and decaffeinated beans and mixing them. This allows me to keep sipping throughout the day.

I agree with JEB that quality makes a difference.
