How soon we forget that ultimately this all involves human beings that want little more that a chance to live their lives in a threat free environment. Words fail to describe this psychotic, atavistic attack - such national and international consensus could have been built around hunting and killing the perpetrators. Well, wedge issues are good to have also: Iraq has served so many purposes, so handily. One of them is to make people forget that Bin Laden is still alive and free. And scheming. It's worse than that, unfortunately. The pool of potential recruits for the other side includes bunches of people who believe it possible to discern the will of Allah in current events. What do they think is the will of Allah wrt UBL, AMAZ, Dr. Z, and their quest(s)? Posted by: CharleyCarp at April 12, 2006 01:02 PM | Permalink to this commentyes, it makes the blood boil. and brings tears to the eyes. when will osama bin laden be brought to justice? why has he been seemingly forgotten in official washington-dom? And can the afghan war really be counted a success w/ UBL, Zawahiri, and Mullah Omar still at large? I lost several friends. I just can't imagine the fear and pain of their final moments. Posted by: Eric Martin at April 12, 2006 11:46 PM | Permalink to this comment |
