"We Don't Feel Any Pressure"

This excellent Rajiv Chandrasekaran piece actually provides some glimmers of hope, but you really shouldn't miss the last 4-5 grafs. They're pretty priceless.

Casey seems like a wise man at some level, although perhaps an insufferable optimist to have another go at it.

I experienced the 'consumer' end of the CPA fantasy in trying to invest in Iraq in 03-early 04. We gave up.

Nice closing w Chalabi. I recall readig the glowing praise of that nasty piece of work (talented and charming as he is) from the American dupes in 02-04, with the blithe dismissal of Chalabi's financial scam. Amazing really, only a bit of due diligence, it was easy to turn up fine amounts of evidence of Chalabi's penchant for fraud and insider dealing.
