The Sam Tanenhaus VF Interview

The Sam Tanenhaus VF Interview as Seen From Le Monde

Le Monde took Tanenhaus' interview of Wolfowitz and practically blared this headline:

"Pour Paul Wolfowitz, la présence d'armes de destruction massive en Irak n'était qu'un prétexte". Translation: "For Paul Wolfowitz, the presence of WMD in Iraq was merely a pretext."

A pretext for going to war, of course.

Except he said no such thing if you bother to read the transcript (but why bother in this age when bylines are surreptitiously and shamelessly concocted from Brooklyn Internet portals or articles are dashed off, willy-nilly, from shoddy German sources without bothering an accurate translation or check of the original transcript?).
