Okay, if Ms. Hassan is dead, it's another atrocity to mount on the top of the hill for those, domestic and foreign, to contemplate who cannot grasp--refuse to grasp--what it is we're fighting when we fight Islamist terrorists.
That said, I ask: am I the only one to wonder aloud what she was doing in Hussein's Iraq all those years? Did Hussein regularly tolerate international charity NGOs in his domain? I've heard nothing about Amnesty Int'l, eg., running it's show while Hussein put on regular displays of what can only be called terrorist mutilation rituals. (No terrorism in Iraq until the U. S. brought it there? Terrorism is Islam's business-as-usual from Constantinople to the walls of Vienna to the siege of Paris to the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Oldest form of coercion known to humankind). I think there's much more to Hassan's and CARE's story than anyone has apparently thought it worth inquiring into. And I post it on the Belgravia Dispatch b/c I think Greg just might be the guy to do the speculating. Any speculations? Is there something here to speculate about?
